Sir,

I would like to seek the courtesy of your newspaper to publish this letter on the subject cited above. This will help attracting the attention of the concerned authorities towards the matter.

The number of smoke emitting vehicles on the roads in increasing day by day… the traffic department is ignorant of the problem. Previously, there used to be an annual fitness test for all the vehicles the vehicles not coming to the standard were not given fitness certificate and they could not run on the roads. No such practice prevails now. They do not take care of their vehicles and just keep rolling their vehicles and making money.

As these smoke emitting vehicles are a great source of pollution and a great hazard to people’s health, the traffic authorities should look into the matter and try to remedy the situation.
